Workshop Series by Κoullou|Μakka

📍Monday 26/05
Visibility of Bodies in the Urban Space

How are disabled bodies seen – or rendered invisible – in the spaces we move through every day? What does it mean to be seen in the city – physically, socially, and emotionally? Can the creative tools and play help us reimagine the city as a space of inclusion and care? This workshop invites participants to explore the political dimension of visibility through embodied, creative practices grounded in movement and theatrical exercises. The workshop will also highlight the importance of how disabled bodies navigate urban space, how the city responds to differences, and how we might imagine more inclusive futures.

📍Friday 06/06
Claiming Crip Time

This workshop explores crip time—a concept that embraces non-linear, flexible approaches to time shaped by disability experiences—through walking as a practice of exploring and reshaping public space. Walking, in this context, includes the movement of wheelchairs, crutches, and other mobility aids. Participants will engage in a series of experiments involving slow, mindful movements that challenge societal norms of speed and productivity. By moving together in public, the final intervention of the workshop reclaims space and time, inviting reflection on visibility and the diversity of bodies.

📍Friday 20/06
Creative Writing Inspired by the City

In this creative writing workshop, we will explore words and concepts related to the city and public space. We will share experiences and stories connected to space and disability, gender, class, ethnicity, and sexuality. We will play with words, creating various literary texts in different forms. What would a poem look like if it were written by your favorite square? What might the wheels of your wheelchair be discussing? If you wrote a letter to your city, what would you tell it?

Mapping Invisible Routes

In this workshop, we will create collective "embodied narratives" based on personal experiences of the city, disability, and the concept of time. Through movement, words, and theatrical tools, participants will transform individual memories and sensations into shared actions in public space. How can we speak about what remains unseen? How do bodily journeys reshape the map of the city? This workshop invites all bodies on an imaginative journey of embodied poetry and spatial storytelling.
