For the abolition of the family
Michelle O'Brien's essay "For the Abolition of the Family" was written in 2019, and attempts to analyse the conditions and possibilities for gender liberation in history.
She analyses the conditions of each historical phase of capitalism and writes according to the form of family that prevailed, how and in what ways the feminist and LGBTQ+ movement claimed and fought.
Through her analysis, we can think about the historical conditions of today and the limits and possibilities of women's and gender liberation in Cyprus and internationally.
