One of the most inspiring and compact texts in the Greek language, multi-layered and revealing, the essay-manifesto, in which Kazantzakis records the pains and hopes of his personal struggle to find and understand God, his own God, is transferred in the form of a theatrical monologue by V. Vasilakis

About the event
As the artist himself says: "I used to ride an old bicycle away from the city and loiter in the courtyards of small churches, on deserted beaches or in the mountains of Aegina, trying to understand Kazantzakis' words, which are dense in meaning and necessity. A difficult, terrible, endless uphill climb".
Vassilis Vassilakis' "Askitiki" was structured in terms of absolute modernity as a work in constant flux, changing kinematically and stylistically, but keeping the solid cores of speech and acting.
The lighting, the only "helper" of the performance, parallaxes following the steps of interpretation of the text.
