About the event
We present bits and pieces of the first outcomes of the choreographic exchange between Eleftheria Socratous and Demy Papathanasiou which took place during the 10-day residency of the artists at Synergeio in the frame and the support of the European Programme "Culture Movess Europe". Rooted in the intersection between feminist and crip theories, the research aims to challenge ideas of speed, efficiency, and functionality in public space through movement exploration, research on access, and the notion of crip time in relation the urban landscape of Limassol.
While exploring slowness as a form of resistance, implementing various walking-based urban experiments, and using elements of contact improvisation, barriers are transformed into choreographic material. Crutches become an extension of the body and enable the reclaiming of space.
